A donor can also choose to uplift the life of more than one school girl through ADOPT A DADA
ADOPT A DADA donation categories:
- 1 girl – Kenya Shillings 6,000
- 3 girls – Kenya Shillings 18,000
- 5 girls – Kenya Shillings 30,000
- 10 girls – Kenya Shillings 60,000
School girls who benefit from ADOPT A DADA are carefully selected from counties in Kenya by the Ministry of Education. These are girls who perform well in class but are unable to consistently attend school because they lack access to basic necessities like Sanitary Pads.
To kick off our ADOPT A DADA initiative, school girls have been selected from the following counties:
Save for Baringo and Nyamira, the pilot counties we selected are Nairobi and it’s environs, for ease of initial distribution and follow up. Baringo is important because this is where Inua Dada initiative was launched and the need is very real there. Nyamira is also a county that is experiencing many challenges concerning girls missing school due to lack of basic necessities.
In order to ensure that the ADOPT A DADA Dignity Kits are not only reaching the girls but are being utilized by them and making a difference in their lives, the Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Education will identify a Social Worker on the ground in each county who will be giving us updates on the girls attendance and performance in class.
We would appreciate your support in partnering with us on this important initiative. Donors can choose 1, 2, 3 even 10 or 20 girls, whatever they are comfortable with. We truly hope we can reach our target of ensuring all 1,200 girls have sponsors by the end of the year so that they can transition into the next school year with confidence.
I know that there are many programs out there that do not have the follow through they should, and this has discouraged many people from supporting causes. But this is a worthy one and we are working with partners who will ensure that these girls are supported.
We hope to grow ADOPT A DADA beyond the distribution of dignity kits but this is a great way of intervening as we continue to learn about the challenges that keep girls from attending and performing well in school.
We look forward to your support!
